ORIGAMI COUTURE

When I was a kid, I consider myself lucky coz i could turn a piece of paper into a cute star or a plane and a boat. Loads of them. Origami in its purest form has always been a magical art for me.

Origami (折り紙?, from ori meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper") is the traditional Japanese Folkart of paper folding , which started in the 17th century AD and was popularized in the mid-1900s. It has since then evolved into a modern art form. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.

The collection has none of the simplicity and restraint of traditional Japan, but the dresses are decadent and bold. It’s Joy Fellini doing Japan her own way, with Japan as the stage for her own fantasy and imagination. This is what makes it new, and what makes it interesting from Fellini Couture
